First Ever Asian Heritage Parade To be held in New Jersey


"The first ever Asian Heritage parade in USA involving all Asian communities will be held on June 1 at Bergenfield, New Jersey", it was declared by Andrew Pappachen, President of Asian American Heritage Council in a press conference held on March 15 at Wuzz Up Filipino Restaurant, Bergenfield. Mrs. Ludi Hughes, Chairperson of the Asian Heritage Council said that a special committee with representation from the Filipino, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Malaysian, Magnolia, Thailand, Bangla Desh, Pakistan, Taiwan, Vietnam etc, was formed to organize the parade. The parade will begin at 11 AM from the junction of Washington Ave. and Main street and end in the grounds of Teaneck Armory. Then there will be Asian food fair and entertainment till 7 PM at the Armory. There will be floats representing each Asian community, people walking in their native dress, dancers and bands. Corporations and businesses owned by Asians are urged to display their products and services at the Festival grounds. Special display of handicrafts and other art products will be displayed.
